Disney were one of the surprise packages of last week's E3 event in Santa Monica, revealing not only a deal that will see flicks distributed via the Live Video Marketplace, but also word that Disney Interactive had shelled-out for Warren Spector's studio Junction Point.

Mopping up news from the show today, we also learn that the company is partnering with to create a social networking service for the handheld - called DGamer. DGamer will use the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection to allow players to create custom avatars, chat, vote and engage in leaderboards.

The DGamer utility will come with all Disney software released on the platform once completed, and players will even be able to access their network through Disney's website. 2008 releases The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, Spectrobes II, and Hanna Montana 3 will be the first to use DGamer, and in-game success will be rewarded with unloackabe extras - such as backgrounds, skins, trophies, and avatar costumes.

Players will even be able to trade items collected with friend's on their network. Fall Line Studio are developing with a release in May 2008 mooted. More soon.
