MGS4 remains PS3 "exclusive"
Out next spring
While Konami stated earlier this week that Metal Gear Solid 4's PS3 exclusivity was under threat, owing to the expense of the game's development coupled with likely sales on the PlayStation 3, Sony chief Jack Tretton today affirmed that Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is still a PlayStation 3 exclusive.
Speaking at Sony's press briefing, Hideo Kojima demonstrated fresh real-time footage from the eagerly anticipated title, and promised the game would be released worldwide in spring 2008.
The new game will see Snake coming face to face with old foe Liquid Ocelot. What's more, Kojima insists that this will be the last title in the series, and while it remains a stealth-based experience - the use of dynamic cover on the battlefield will be important.
A hands-on demo of the game was promised by Kojima, but not at E3, rather at the PlayStation premier on July 17th in Tokyo. More soon.
