Voice of Adam Jensen lost Far Cry 3 gig due to Deus Ex: Human Revolution's popularity
Elias Toufexis, the voice of Adam Jensen, has revealed that he lost his job voicing the hero in Far Cry 3 due to the success of Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
Speaking at this year's MCM London Comic Con Toufexis revealed that he was a victim of Ubisoft trying to avoid the Nolan North syndrome Far Cry 3 which they suffered with Assassin's Creed hero Desmond Miles.
He revealed, “I shouldn’t say this, but there’s a game called Far Cry 3, which I’m sure you guys know, where I had played Jason Brody. I played him for two years, did the voice and when Deus Ex came out they replaced me because they were nervous that… ‘we don’t want people playing this game and thinking of another game.’”
“It’s justifiable, it’s understandable, but my normal voice is what I used for that character too. So now it’s like I’m losing work because Jensen is so popular,” Toufexis added.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's Cut which is the Eidos Montreal's definitive version of the game is out now on PC, PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U.
