Bingo! It's Friday, and have informed us that three new titles have staggered on the PAL service. Top of the list is the Hedgehog 2, originally released on the Megadrive back in 1992.

Sonic 2 will set you back 800 points, and sees the blue hedgehog off in search of the Chaos Emeralds, battling arch nemesis Dr. Eggman, who hopes to use the emeralds to craft an evil 'Death Egg'. Tails also puts in an appearance in this fast-paced platform classic.

Another Megadrive hit, with a somewhat slimmer pedigree, is release number two today - in the shape of Ecco: The Tides of Time. This title is a sequel to the original Ecco game, and sees our friendly dolphin once again solving nautical puzzles in a bid to thwart an alien invasion. 800 points, for you.

There's more from the Magadrive, too, with Golden Axe II also leaping in a smart fashion onto the VC today. This 1991 classic sees players controlling Ax-Battler, Tyris-Flare and Gilius Thunderhead through a swathe of plucky enemies on a mission to recover the Golden Axe. As with other Megadrive releases, this title will set you back 800 points.

Last VC release of the day is Dragon Spirit, which comes from the TurboGrafx-16, and yes, its a side-scrolling shooter. In this title, players will be assuming the role of a young soldier, out to save the princess and thwart the evil serpent demon, which sounds... terrifying, actually. This retrograde slice of will set you back 600 Wii points.
