Series two on the way...
Despite the 'unrelenting' demands of the episodic format, Sam & Max developer Kevin Bruner has spoken of Telltale's commitment to the format, promising a second series of Sam & Max in the process.

Telltale are planning to release a second series of the crime-fighting duo's capers, and he spoke to UK site GamesIndustry.biz about the challenges of the model. "Once you get over the production challenges of making a game a month then it's a really attractive model," Bruner explained. "I've made a lot of traditional games and I much prefer to work this way than spending two years making one game and when it comes out, if you've screwed something up then you don't get a chance to fix it."
Bruner revealed that the episodic content route allowed Telltale to change the game and respond to community feedback from the fourth episode onwards. He also believes that most games are too expensive but Telltale's pioneering role with Sam & Max led to some difficulties over how best to price the series. "We think that our games are priced correctly but a lot of episodic games and games in general are priced too highly."
Each episode of Sam & Max costs 9 USD, while the whole series can be acquired for 35 USD. We hope for more news on Sam & Max series two soon.
