ELSPA have praised the BBFC's decision to effectively ban Manhunt 2 in the UK, director general Paul Jackson stating it proves the has in place "a ratings system that is effective".

"The games is a creative phenomenon that produces all kinds of games across all kinds of genres that appeal to all kinds of people across the country, young and old, male and female," the games industry trade association chief explained, Take 2 / and many more firms are a members of Jackson's association, it's worth noting. "The important thing to know is that all games are rated according to age suitability, with over 70 per cent of games being available to all ages over three years."

Manhunt 2 was denied classification by the earlier today, the first time the ratings body has prevented a game from release since Carmageddon in 1997, though the publisher can appeal as SCi eventually and successfully did in 1997. More on this as we get it.
