The Bank Holiday weekend must certainly have provided some inspiration to the world's game makers, with Blade Interactive lifting the lid on today's third new game announcement: Hydrophobia, a 2008 release targeting the PC, and PS3.

A third-person affair based around 'water' is the decidedly fluid introduction to the game, with the action in Hydrophobia set to unfold on a giant ship that is a kind of floating city of the future. Playing the role of lead character 'Kate', who's absolutely petrified of water, you'll be charged with rescuing the floating fortress recently attacked by a band of bad eggs.

As well as providing the setting and the premise, water will be at the heart of the gameplay too, as Blade reckon they're creating the ultimate water-borne game - including incredibly realistic physics based on the floaty-transparent stuff. Environments will thusly change realistically in relation to the involvement of H2O.

Water-themed puzzles and of course a whole boat-load of action is also on-board (chortle), and we'll ship in more news as it floats our way (sorry).
