Controversial Modern Warfare 2 footage leaks
Banned from YouTube, but we've got it here
A new video is available online, purportedly from Modern Warfare 2, demonstrating a segment from the game depicting civilians being murdered in cold blood at an airport.
The footage, which is quite brutal, has been confirmed as real by publisher Activision who tell VG247 this:
"The scene establishes the depth of evil and the cold bloodedness of a rogue Russian villain and his unit. By establishing that evil, it adds to the urgency of the players mission to stop them.
"Players have the option of skipping over the scene. At the beginning of the game, there are two 'checkpoints' where the player is advised that some people may find an upcoming segment disturbing. These checkpoints can't be disabled."
The publisher are understandably keen to point out that MW2 carries an '18' certification.
Update: This video has been pulled from most places but is live here at present.
